| Application for clearance from IBSC, Panjab University |
This is to bring to your kind notice that the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC) has been approved by DBT, New Delhi. According to the Indian Biosafety Rules and Regulations, this committee shall advice, facilitate and regulate biotechnology work at different stages to achieve the objectives of protecting environment including human and animal health from the unintended adverse effects of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)/ Living Modified Organisms (LMOs)/ r-DNA and products thereof. The objective of the committee is to facilitate and disseminate the statutory requirements to be adhered by the researchers who are undertaking research work using modern biotechnology tools. You are therefore requested to submit details regarding the research being carried out in your laboratory as per the proforma attached in this mail. This is the requirement for on going as well as new proposals.
Kindly submit your proforma/applications to the office of Member Secretary latest by 3rd March, 2017 so as to obtain clearance from the monitoring committee. Regards Archana Bhatnagar Member Secretary
